About Gay Men's Health Crisis - Legal Department

Gay Men's Health Crisis' Legal Services Department provides a continuum of practical and concrete HIV specific legal services that are critical to obtaining and maintaining access to food, housing, medical care and employment. All legal services are free and no legal fees apply.

Immigration services are available to anyone in New York City in need of them, regardless of medical status.

Our services include:

We provide HIV and STI testing, food and nutrition programs, housing support, workforce development, legal assistance, advocacy for benefits and health insurance, mental health and emotional support, substance use counseling, and more.

We serve the following area:

We serve people in Manhattan and five boroughs of New York City. Over 60 percent of our clients are people of color, nearly 75 percent identify as LGBTQ+, and over 80 percent are people living at or below the Federal Poverty Line.

This organization is accessible by wheelchair and provides access for the hearing impaired.
